Want to become a Diversity Peer Educator?
Successful DPEs are passionate about inclusion, leaders, and comfortable speaking in front large groups and answering difficult questions. All Diversity Peer Educators must complete a year of diversity training before they are able to facilitate programs; therefore you should have three semesters left at MU when applying. We recruit at the beginning of every fall and spring semester.
Submit your information and the DPE Coordinators will contact you with more information about the application process.
The members of DPE participate in an extensive training process to be able to provide the community with this cultural awareness. The training includes reading three different books over the course of a semester, and discussing those texts at our weekly meetings, facilitating discussions, and observing and practicing varying pedagogical methods.Ultimately, the students who are a part of DPE are committed to creating a more inclusive community and an awareness that can enhance our concepts of productive citizenship within society.
